Knife Deals
Knife deals in real time - Would this be useful?
Hypothetical question: would people here be interested in a Discord server that posts knife deals and new releases (BladeHQ, GP Knives, etc.) in real time so you can grab them before they sell out?
Shark-Cub Stealth (Black) From Arizona Custom Knives (1 left)

Petrified Fish Knives
Petrified fish makes very low priced knives which perform much better than their cost would suggest. Their blades are more robust and larger than the Chinese competition Most use D2 or K110 steel. A few are offered in 14C28N. The usual 9Cr18MoV Chinese version of AUS8 is absent. My favorite is the Shilin Cutter styled Viper. Also really nice are the PF818 and Beluga front flipper. The liner lock on the Beluga clunks into place with the sound of a titanium frame lock. They give 10% off for your first purchase. Sometimes they ship from China. I got last one like that in 10 days. I am not connected with the company other I have 4 of their knives. They are also available on Amazon.
SRM 255L - A Knife Worth Checking Out
The first Imgur link, following the Knife Center Link; shows the SRM 255L compared to my Benchmade Bugout (aftermarket scales), Hogue Deka (aftermarket scales) and Hogue Misto.
The Benchmade Bugout is one of their most success knives. It seems to me that Hogue and SRM aree going after it. So far, I'm extremely impressed with the SRM in comparison.
The deals I'm posting about are the ones that are $44.99 and have the 140CR Steel. There are two. The black and green Micarta.
I bought the black micarta knife and paid $70 for it. I consider this knife a bargain at at $70. I've ordered another balck as well as a green at the now price.
Here is why this knife is a big deal to me. When the package arrived and I opened it, I thought of my Bugout and Hogue Deka as I was handling it. Though, this one is better looking with micarta as opposed to the plastic the others use. It's easy to change the look of micarta handles if you remove from the knife and use sand paper. Someone asked about sanding micarta to change the look. The last image link shows a couple of different things you can do. I would not try to contour these scales. I say this based on my experience making the micarta straight razor scales in the pics. You can also polish is. You can see where handling the end of the white linen micarta razor polished it.
Explainede a little differently, What excites me with knives are those that deliver $200 worth of value for $70. Innovation on the part of budget priced knife makers keep innovating and finding ways to deliver. In my view, this knife is setting a new standard in delivering value for the dollar.
Of all the folks doing knife videos, I like the ones done by David C Anderson, Seth and Thomas from Knife Center. Their videos are overseen by David C. He's very knowledgeable and is honest as I see it.
Both David C and Seth can't say enough good things about this knife. I bought one for $70 and cosider it a bargain.
With the pricing reduced to $44.99, I ordered two more and am going to order an additional two for gifts.
The manufacturer claims the 140-CR performs comparably to S35VN. I would like to think they would avoid stretching the truth after what happened with CJRB and their RPM-9 steel.
I did a preliminary test yesterday. I can't draw strong conclusions as there were too many variable, such as the knives being at different sharpness levels. I test against my Griptillain w/ S30VN. I don't know the angle of the bevel on the SRM and have used it since being purchased. The blade on the SRM is more like the Bugout than that Griptillian.
I tested as follows. I cut newspaper stock with both of them and noted how it cut. I then cut up a bunch of cardboard, which you can see in the pics. I then cut the newspaper stock after cutting up the carboard to see the amount of change. Due to the multiple variables, what I'm comfortable saying that I was pleased with the performance of the SRM.

Leather Storage Roll
I've updated my opinion as well adding pics I took in addressing comments from today.
I've purchased two of these and really like them. After researching, I'm changing my recommnedation. Whether to go with this or one like the Blade HQ depends on your goal. For taking knives somewhere and looking good these are the ticket. The Blade HQ costs twice as much, though will last forever. The clear plastic makes it really easy to ID the knives. I would expect the felt like lin ing on the leather model to fail if used to clip the knives frequently and over time.
One person commented that leather can attract water. I can't speak to that. I would tend toward one like theBlade HQ for long term storage.
The leather is fine, but not excellent. The stitching is fine, but not excellent.
The dark Brown looks better than the light brown. They now have black as well. The outside is leather and the inside is a felt-like material. This is a new product, and I expect that pricing will increase as they get established.

WMK / Spyderco
Hi anyone know if Spyderco implemented more strict rules on codes? I think the standard 10% off codes I use no longer apply to sprint runs and production models.

Mini Bugout $125
Mini Bugout for $125. It's not the absolute best deal ever for one, but it is also the cheapest I've seen in a while. Since I have a bunch of mini Bugout scales I got for cheap during Flytanium's scale sale, I figured I might as well get a mini Bugout to put them on. Any questions, just gimme a holler.

Spyderco Shaman Salt Magnacut @ FKS - Earns 302 Freedom Coins ($75.50 in Store Credit)
We are down to our last few of these!!
For those of you who did not hear yet, beginning Jan 1, 2026 we had to move away from any discounts pre-purchase, and launch our loyalty program, which gives you 25% back in freedom coins (redeemable for store credit). This was due to pressure from manufacturers and updates to their MAP policies.
Either way, we appreciate y'all, and will always do what we can to roll with the punches and offer the best deals to our customers!
Fixed blades for sale
These are part of my late father’s collection. Do you guys think they are priced reasonably? I don’t know how to care for them so I want them to go to a good home. I’ve got about 60 more to price but I’m just going to a few at a time.
Solid Bestech Deals at Chicago Knife Works (Togatta, Lockness, Nogard, Mothus, Skirmish, nuke, kasta, Goblin, tonic, wibra, Maru
Standouts that I have personally held and enjoy are the Togatta at 180 - 190, Lockness at 148 - 158 and Nogard at 127.
Plus shipping of course and the wait from Chicago Knifeworks... (as far as I can tell they mostly drop ship or have to order on demand from a wholesaler) so it tends to be delayed but...
Reason the G&G Tactical Hinderer posts were torn down?
Apologies if not allowed:
Anyone know why the two posts for Hinderer Eklipse and Jurassic at G&G Tactical were taken down?
(I think) I snagged the last Eklipse and was going back to see if anyone else had commented on the post but it’s gone, as well as the post for the Jurassic.
Anyone know why?
