Evenheat coil replacement Media

Published: 6 years ago

The heating coil recently went out in my evenheat so I thought id show how I replaced it. Pretty simple and straight forward though it seems intimidating. I started by removing the control panel from the side and disconnecting the coil itself marking which wire went where. Once that's done it's simply a matter of pulling the coil from its notch along the walls of the oven. 2 rod stoppers need to be removed from the bottom so the 2 ceramic rods can be removed letting the coil pull free. Evenheat recommends needle nose pliers and it worked like a charm. When installing the new coil I inserted one side through the oven and loosely ran the coil. You don't want to stretch or compress it too much or you won't have enough or will have too much coil to end up in the right spot. You can remove and reposition as needed. The main thing to watch out for is when installing the ceramic rods in the back, the coil needs to be pressed in to clear the rods. It takes some adjusting but it's fairly easy. You do have to trim the excess coil so make sure to fit the ceramic insulators before hand so you don't cut too much.
