Robert Young Pelton's, The World's Most Dangerous Places: Kidnapped Media

After returning from the gruesome fighting in Liberia, people are worried that Pelton might be immersed in too much violence. He decides to take a long hike in the woods. The deadly Darien Gap, a journey he intended to make when he was 19 but went to live on a tropical island instead. He had two weeks before he had to return to film a season closer about 9/11 in America but was kidnapped by AUC death squads during a hike across the Darien. To put together the season finale, producers used his amazing footage of the brutal kidnap, interwoven with previous trips to Grozny, Chechnya where he interviews a captured Russian spy Aleksey Galkin, Uganda where Pelton survives a bomb attack by a young terrorist who a pressure cooker IED under Pelton's table. After spending a long bloody night at two bombing sites trying to save shattered victims he heads to meet the SPLA in Southern Sudan. We also see Pelton's journey inside the drug war in Peru the was cut short when he is hit and seriously injured by a car while riding his motorcycle on a mountain road. Pelton's Discovery series was renewed for 8 shows with a celebrity contract but he chose to enter the war in Iraq for 6 months, traveling around the country in red Bentley documenting mass graves.
