Buck has marketed this as a military and police version of their popular Pro Vantage line. A metal backspacer has been added for strength. Texturing has been added to the handle scales, spacer, flipper, and thumb ramp. The handle scales come in military colors (olive drab or desert tan). The satin finish has been replaced with a less-reflective stonewash finish on the blade, liners, backspacer, and pocket clip. It is 0.6 ounces heavier than the civilian model, but the handle is slightly slimmer. I would recommend this for EDC. They took a classic knife with a good steel and gave you a better grip, an attractive stonewash, and even stronger construction.
