Quartermaster Knives QSE-5TT Mr. Roper Knife Review
Published: 10 years ago
This is a re-upload of my Mr. Roper review, with pre-review notes added. The pivot chain ring bolt came slightly loose, which is why the centering was so bad in the original review. I tightened it with an Allen key and here you see the improved centering (the centering is still a bit off to the right, but not as bad, I might Loc-Tite the pivot bolt, if necessary). I also explain what the "Texas Tea" finish is, and give props to Warren Thomas.
Blade Length: 3 inches
Steel: CPM 154 (58-60 RC)
Lock Mechanism: Frame Lock
Handle Material: Titanium
Weight: 4 ounces
Notes: Designed by Warren Thomas
Made In: USA
Price: $182 (BladeHQ: http://www.bladehq.com/item--Quartermaster-QSE-5TT-Mr-Roper--23347)
This knife is a strong competitor in the high end production EDC folder category. The blade length and weight are what many prefer for an EDC folder. The titanium handle and frame lock have become very common among mid tech folders, however the blade shape and use of a CPM (Crucible Particle Metallurgy) steel make this knife very desirable.
