Boker Plus Steel Ranger Knife Review
Published: 10 years ago
Blade Length: 4 inches
Steel: 440C
Handle Scales: G-10
Weight: 5.25 ounces
Sheath: Leather
Made In: China
Price: $46
This design has a lot features going for it that make it superior to outwardly similar designs:
*False edge swedge makes it legal is more areas and can be sharpened if you wish.
*Broader tip is stronger, wounds better, and can dig, pry, and open cans.
*Stonewash looks good and is non-reflective.
*True full tang and integral guards are strong construction.
*Skeletonized handle makes it light/fast, balanced, improves grip, allows indexing.
*Handle scales are thick/sturdy, textured right, beveled for comfort, and look good.
*Simple effective handle shape allows any grip.
*Integral guards are also jimped thumb ramps, pommel is jimped for thumb capping.
*Thumb-tab on sheath works well.
*4 Inch blade length is close to the limit of what is practical to conceal/carry.
*Knife weighs only as much as a medium-sized folder.
*440C is very corrosion-resistant, allowing use as a diving/maritime dagger.
*Price will probably come down to a pretty reasonable figure.
*Construction, appearance, and sheath are notably improved from it's predecessor, the Boker Steelmariner.
