Boker Plus Tomahook Tactical Tomahawk Review
Published: 9 years ago
Primary Edge: 5.75 inches
Top Edge: 1.5 inches
Steel: SK5
Total Length: 18.5 inches
Thickness: 1/8th inch
Weight: 2 pounds 1.6 ounces
Handle Scales: G-10
Sheath: Kydex
Price: $105
The Tomahook has an extra long primary edge and slim blade profile allowing it to sink deeply into targets. It has a sharpened top section that can be used as a pry bar. The backspike comes to an unsharpened edge rather than a point, making it good for use against cinder blocks or windows. The hook portion of the blade is good for prying, and can be used like the hook of a cro bar. It also allows you to choke up behind the edge and use it for skinning, scraping, mincing, or punching. The tops of the G-10 scales do tend to scrape and scuff against things sometimes when chopping, so I wrapped them with some padding. Overall, this is a pretty versatile tool, most suited for breaching, rescue, and urban survival.
