PREPARE FOR GLORY, Boker Aegaen/Spartan Emperor Sword
Published: 9 years ago
This sword is the Boker Aegaen Sea Sword, but several other companies sell this same sword as The Spartan Emperor Sword. It appears to come in several variations.
Blade Length: 23.375 inches
Steel: 1045 Carbon
Thickness: 0.2 inches
Handle: Aluminum
Guard: Aluminum
Weight: 2 pounds 10 ounces
Sheath: Imitation Leather
Made In: China
Price: $48
A symmetrical short sword design, according to Boker, the blade shape was inspired by Greek and Roman swords. The handle is a non-historical design, but allows for a partial two-handed grip. This sword comes with un-sharpened edges (this allows Boker to sell it in countries that don't allow double-edged blades). I have put an edge on one side of the blade. The blade is fairly thick and the grind is narrow, unlike a machete, it is not as easy to grind a sharp edge onto it. Below $50 it is an insanely low price for a sword. I must say this sword is a lot better quality than virtually any other sword you would find at this price. Though I would not take this sword into battle, it is still a fine project for backyard sword enthusiasts, if you know how to put an edge onto it.
