The scientific rationale for this difference likely lies in 14C28N's balanced chemical composition, particularly the inclusion of nitrogen which enhances hardness without the same embrittling effect as the high carbon content found in 1095. Additionally, the finer grain structure of 14C28N appears to contribute to its increased resistance to fracture.
