QSP Worker - A Modern Traditional EDC Knife
Published: 2 years ago
Urban Knife Guy reviews the QSP Worker as an urban EDC knife.
Purchase it here: https://amzn.to/42cs7kp
The QSP Worker is a solid utility knife with a lockback mechanism. The knife has a traditional vibe to it, but it uses modern materials for comfort, performance, and strength.
Blade Length: 3.5" (88mm)
Closed Length: 4.25" (108mm)
Overall Length: 7.75" (196mm)
Blade Thickness: 0.13"
Weight: 4.27 oz. (121g)
Blade Material: Bohler N690
N690 is a stainless melt alloy. Very stainless as it contains 17% of chromium. Takes a very fine edge. Holds it a bit better than ATS-34, 154CM, or VG10.
The hardness of N690 steel is 55-60 HRC as per the Rockwell hardness scale. This range makes it hard steel, associated with the high amounts of carbon in its composition. The added cobalt, a very hard and heat resistant metal, also contributes to the hardness.
N690 is also tough. As a rule of thumb, you can either get high hardness or toughness from steel but never both. However, it is different from N690 blade steel as it offers both.
Knife is also easy to sharpen.
Blade Style: Sheepsfoot
Blade Finish: Satin
Handle Material: Snakewood with Stainless Steel Bolsters.
Locking Mechanism: Lockback
Pivot Assembly: Ceramic Ball Bearings
Pocket Clip: Deep Carry Tip-Up, Right Carry
