Urban Knife Guy shares his thoughts on the Fontenille Pataud "Le Capuchadou".

The knife was made by Fontenille Pataud, one of the most established and respected cutlers in France that has been around for several generations. They are known for their handmade Laguiole knives. And their workshop in is located in Thiers, the French capital of cutlery.

Le Capuchadou was created before the Laguiole in the 19th century. It was used by French peasants, farmers and shepherds and was used for all daily tasks, from preparing lunch to caring for their flock of sheep.

Specifications:

- Size and weight: 10 cm folded, 17 cm open, approx. 90 grams
- Blade: Stainless Swedish 14C28N steel, 3 mm thick. Hardness: 58-59 Hrc.
- The spring is made from 3 mm thick stainless steel Z20c13 and features a bladestop.
- Handle: Buffalo horn, taken from the bark (external) part of the horn.
