The Spyderco Military is one of the most iconic folding knives ever produced by Spyderco. Originally introduced in 1996 by company founder Sal Glesser, the Military was designed in response to a simple question: "If your child was heading into military service, what knife would you give them?" The result was a lightweight, full-size workhorse featuring a 4-inch blade, liner lock, and Spyderco's signature Round Hole for easy one-handed deployment.
In this first impressions review, I'm taking a look at the River's Edge Cutlery (REC) Exclusive Spyderco Military, better known as the "Avocado." This version pairs CTS-204P steel with an FDE-coated blade and OD Green G-10 scales, continuing REC's wildly popular Avocado colorway that first launched in 2018 and quickly became one of the most sought-after Spyderco exclusives.
