Traditonal Pattern Knives: the Whittler
Published: 4 years ago
Let's face it. You can whittle with just about any knife. In the past, some knife experts claimed that the Whittler wasn't an actually a pattern but was just a name knife makers gave to knive they claimed were better for wood working. And in fairness, the experts were right. There was a time when it was the blade choices that made the whittler a whittler. But today, most whittlers also share a design layout as well as well as blade choices. Like it's close relative (the stockman) to day's whittler is more a family of knife with common features than one standard pattern with variations. But there is no mistaking a whittler regardless of the frame it is built on!
