My USA made Trappers

Published: 1 year ago

I take a look at all of my USA made traditional pattern slip joints that are currently marketed as "Trappers" by the the companies who make them. For the sake of sanity, I define the the "Standard Trapper" as Case's 54 pattern Jack knife. This knife is built on a 4 1/8 inch frame with a long clip and and secondary spay blade of 3 1/4 in inches. A Trapper is also defined as any two bladed jack knife with a Clip and Spay blade. Others define a Trapper as any knife using a frame similar to that of the Case 54 pattern Jack knife.

I should also note that when "Trappers" stray from the what I call the "Standard Trapper" manufacturers and collectors alike will often use qualifiers in the description (Jumbo, Mini, Baby, Slimline, Lumberjack, etc.)
