10X10X10 Part 9 Attempts to modernize traditional pattern slipjoints

Published: 7 hours ago

Modern Slipjoints are to knives what What "Modern Art" is to Art. A very misleading name.

Let's face it, attempts to lower production cost and improve the build quality of traditional knives has been going on since the beginning of human history. Major changes to innovation occurred with dawn of the Industrial Revolution. And changes to industry began at break neck speed with innovations of the Assembly line, new metallurgy, computer automation and now Artificial Intelligence. The so called Modern Knives from just 30 or 40 years ago look downright primitive by today's Standards. But with that in mind, there is no reason to simply throw out the baby with the bathwater, or more accurately dressing grandpa up to look like a teenager doesn't make him a teenager. In most cases, he just looks silly.
