Beginner Knives I'd Recommend to Anyone New to EDC

If someone asked me what knives I'd recommend for their very first EDC, these would absolutely be on the list. A good beginner knife doesn't need to be complicated. In my opinion, it should be simple, reliable, easy to use, and easy to maintain while helping build good habits and safe knife handling.

One thing you'll notice is that I don't list prices in these compilation videos. Prices change constantly because of sales, discounts, retailer pricing, and regional differences. I'd rather recommend great knives that fit the category than give prices that may no longer be accurate by the time you watch.
Also, my definition of "budget" is simply my own. Budget is relative. Ask 100 people what a budget knife is, and you'll probably get 100 different answers. For my channel, I generally consider budget to be around $100 and under, and that's the guideline I use for these recommendations.
I also believe beginner knives should focus on simple lock types like liner locks, frame locks, and lockbacks instead of more complex mechanisms. A straightforward blade shape is easier to learn with, easier to sharpen, and less intimidating for someone carrying a knife for the first time. Learn the fundamentals first—crawl before you walk, and walk before you run.
