The Cold Steel Extra Large G10 Espada and the Cold Steel Large G10 Espada are folding knives line-bred for singular mayhem. Though capable of handling most any chore you'd throw at a folding knife, these little honeys are not built to cut string, open boxes or peel fruit. These are weapons patterned after the Spanish street fighting knife the Navaja—often ridiculously large folding knives that common men not permitted to carry swords would stash in their waistbands. (There's an unintended irony in naming them Espada's that rubs me wrong—my only gripe with the knives.) They are beautiful, well made and utterly menacing. The liner-less G10 handles are light, aggressively textured and extremely ergonomic and offer many useful grip options and integral finger protection. The Tri-ad lock buried in the handle is now legendary for its strength of lockup. The AUS 8A modified clip-point blades boast deep, high hollow grinds with razor sharp edges, full sweeping bellies and stout piercing tips. They feature ambidextrous thumbplates for easy one-handed and pocket-wavable deployment. Pocket clips are set up for left or right side tip up carry. These knives are beautiful to me and in many ways, the knives I'd been waiting for for years... a modern tactical interpretation of the Spanish Navaja. Short of fighting with them the Cold Steel Espadas make great collectibles, fondlers and the Large even fit into my EDC at one point. If you're in the market for a little folding overkill, these knives come highly recommended!
