In this unboxing video, I open a box from BladeHQ containing: a 40th birthday gift for my good friend Dahdook, a terrifyingly beautiful Warlock Machete by Salvadorian machete luminary Condor Tool and Knife; as well as a sweet little honey of a blade, the Kershaw Hawk... a $20 gift to myself for being such a good friend!
The Warlock machete is an impressive piece. With a fat belly on a full-flat-ground 1075 carbon steel blade and a sumptuous-to-hold Micarta handle, this beast will set the heart aquiver in both underbrush and bad guys alike. All it needs is a bit more edge and it'll be good to go for most uses.
Hopefully I'll get a chance to thump on the Training Tree with Dahdook's Warlock machete before long and when I do, I'll be sure to report back.
A full review of the Kershaw Hawk is in the offing, but I can already tell it's going to score high with me. It's thin and light—with a milled-out, steel-lined G10 handle—and sports a very sharp and elegant long-swedged clip point 8CR13MOV steel blade.
I'll either use the Hawk as a money clip or remove the clip, add a 550 fob and let it loose in my front left.
Thanks for watching and enjoy this vicarious experience!
