Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 - A quick look

The Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 is an EDC folding knife with tactical capabilities. Like its bigger brothers (4" & 5 ½" Recon 1s) the Mini Recon 1 is overqualified for EDC tasks (cutting string, opening packages, sharpening pencils, etc.) and in a pinch, would be quite effective as a last ditch defensive tool. The 3" clip point model I review in this video was borrowed from my brother-in-law for a few weeks and though I never thrashed on it like my own 4" Recon 1, it shares all the same hallmarks of value and heartiness. It features a hollow-ground 3" AUS 8A stainless steel blade, aggressively textured G10 handle scales and Cold Steel's renowned Tri-ad locking mechanism, which is almost overkill in an EDC blade... almost. The Cold Steel Mini Recon 1 would be an excellent choice for anyone looking for a high-value everyday carry knife that can flex in to a tactical role if necessary. I liked by brother-in-law's so much, I may get myself one... if something else doesn't catch my eye!
