Cold Steel Voyager XL Vaquero - Collection Selection No.56
Published: 5 years ago
Yet another in my collection of ridiculously large folding pocket knives, this Cold Steel XL Vaquero in AUS8A is intimidating and exotic at first glance, with its deeply recurved blade and startling size. But once you take if for a spin you'll see it is just about as useful as any of the other CS XLs. The blade is very thin behind the edge and fully flat ground making it an excellent slicer and the recurve, which accelerates the pull of material into the cutting edge makes it a devastating slasher. I love this blade shape and its connection to the traditional Spanish navaja. The long, curved handle allow for a multitude of grips. I dig this knife though it is a redundancy in my collection since acquiring the Lynn Thompson signature Vaquero XL withe the OD handle and black, serrated, CTS-XHP blade.
