Benchmade Griptilian 551-1 Review: I Promise Last Grip Review
The Benchmade Griptilian drop point is a larger knife that was designed by Mel Pardue. With its G-10 scales, the 551 Benchmade Griptilian has a blade length of about 3.45 inches or 8.763 cm. Although the Benchmade 551-1 Griptilian looks like a large knife, it actually has the weight of a smaller knife at 4.3 ounces or 121.902 grams. The Benchmade 551 Griptilian deploys fairly quick thanks to the ambidextrous thumb studs and Benchmade Griptilian 551BK-1 Axis lock. The bronze bushings also aid with deployment of the 551-1 Benchmade Griptilian blade which utilizes CPM-20CV steel.
