Brous Division Flipper Initial Review: Elegant Excellence in a Large Folder

Published: 11 years ago

Here's my initial, and fairly comprehensive review of the Brous Blades Division Flipper by Jason Brous. This is the second or third folder by a maker in his 20's, which is nearly impossible to believe after having one in hand. This knife is beautifully designed, with high-quality, well-chosen materials, and well-executed to boot. Decidedly a "mid-tech" knife from a custom maker, the Division is an extremely good value at $329. Oh, did I mention the blade steel? This knife gets points with me just for that... Yep, it's my beloved D2!

Find a comfortable chair; grab a cup of coffee and your favorite fondling knife, and settle in for most everything you need to know about the Brous Division flipper :)

30 September, 2013 UPDATE: I talked with Jason on the phone this afternoon and asked about this condition. He explained that he does indeed use RED LOCTITE when he assembles these knives to deter users from attempting to disassemble the knives. They are precision-fitted at his shop, and Jason suggests Division owners send the knives to him for service that requires disassembly. I'm guessing he did this after Jim Skelton tried to work on his own knife ;)
