GEC Northfield American Jack Review: Traditional Tough Guy!

Published: 10 years ago

Here's a preliminary review of the American Jack from Great Eastern Cutlery. This one is the Northfield UN-X-LD version in cranberry jigged bone. The American Jack doesn't seem to get much love from the traditional knife community, mostly due to its extremely strong, thumbnail ripping main blade backspring. But with a stout, clip point main blade made for serious tasks, I actually like the strong spring, especially when coupled with a secondary pen blade that is sheer perfection, on a much lighter spring.

As with all GEC products, the craftsmanship on the American Jack is top notch. I really like this knife!
