CRKT Hi Jinx First Impressions: Good Ideas Lacking in Execution
Published: 9 years ago
Here are my first impressions of the CRKT / Ken Onion Hi Jinx. This knife is the first "high-end" production folder from CRKT, manufactured in Italy by Lionsteel. The knife is stunning in appearance, especially if Ken Onion's designs push your aesthetic buttons.
Heralded as "Knife of the Year" at Blade Show 2014, I expected big things from this knife, but frankly, it's pretty disappointing. From small design details to some glaring machining errors, the Hi Jinx proves itself not worthy of its price tag.
But there's more to this story... A few YouTube buddies and I are going to attempt to make this knife better. Stay tuned, guys...
