Northwoods Everyday Barlow Review: Super Steel Traditional User Blade
Published: 9 years ago
Here's my unvarnished, "nothin' but the truth" review of the Northwoods Knives Everyday Barlow, from KnivesShipFree.com and Derrick Bohn. In his seemingly never ending quest to bring traditional production pocket knives to market in modern steels, Derrick has once again enlisted the services of Queen Cutlery Company as the contract manufacturer of his latest brain child, the Everyday Barlow. Marketed as a true user knife, with a sturdy Barlow frame and three functional blade shapes fashioned of CPM154 steel from Crucible, the Everyday doesn't overreach the quality capabilities of Queen, who is the only viable source for a "super steel" traditional knife. Don't expect perfect fit & finish or precise grinds for your $129, because that's just not Queen. But with solid construction, sweet walk & talk and attractive handle options to go with that great hunk of steel, the Everyday Barlow is what Derrick intended it to be: a traditional pocket knife you can cut with and use with abandon... every day.
