Welcome everyone to the Tactical tavern! My name is Tomas Alas and in this video we are reviewing the Doug Marcaida Talon fixed blade from 5.11 Tactical
This knife is designed by world famous martial artist Doug Marcaida. He serves as a judge on the History channel’s show Forged in Fire which is a competition knife making show recreating History's most famous cutlery. His extensive training in bladed martial arts such as Kali, Escrima, Serrada, and more which gives him the distinction of performing the famous “keal test”.
We are going to stack this collaboration knife between Doug Marciada and 5.11 Tactical up against the Tactical Tavern Test with 25 possible points and see how it performs in Price, Functionality/Design, Dependability, Versatility, and Carry Ability.
The Talon is modeled after an Eagle’s “Talon” - where it gets its name. It comes with a plastic sheath, pull the dot tab, and is modeled after the karambit blade shape.
We will see how this knife performs and if it would be good for every day carry, tactical applications, camping, hiking, field use, and possibly the best mail opener ever?
If you love Forged in Fire, gear, gadgets, and martial arts, this video is for you!
