What Does a Modern Samurai Tanto Look Like? The CRKT (Colombia River Knife and Tool) collaboration with martial artist and knife designer James Williams brings that very idea to life. This take on an ancient Samurai Sword blade brings a delightful and sinister design into the hands of modern warriors. The Hisstasu has been successfully deployed all over the world as a combat knife for some of the most elite special warfare groups. What separates this knife from other tactical fighting knives is the history of the blade and talented martial artist, James Williams. Because James has studied numerous fighting styles and more specifically, the art of the Samurai, he is able to replicate blades that were used in warfare centuries ago. The main function of this knife is to penetrate body armor and still have some light slashing capabilities.
