Budget EDC fixed blades are getting better and better, and the Vosteed Vombat Fixed might just be the one to beat. In this review, I break down why this compact everyday carry knife has a serious shot at being the Budget EDC Fixed Blade of the Year. The Vosteed Vombat Fixed takes everything people loved about the folding Vombat and turns it into a compact, hard-use fixed blade built for real EDC carry. It features a 3.16-inch AEB-L steel blade heat treated to 59+1 HRC, plus your choice of Bowie or clip point blade shapes. The full flat grind makes it a fantastic slicer, while the two rows of functional jimping give you excellent control during detailed cutting tasks. The handle options in G10 or Micarta feel extremely comfortable in hand, and the high-visibility orange liners add a nice touch of style and visibility. Paired with a slim adjustable tension Kydex sheath, this knife carries really well both on the belt and in the pocket. After testing it, I was honestly impressed. The Vosteed Vombat Fixed delivers excellent ergonomics, strong slicing performance, and everyday carry practicality that makes it stand out in the crowded budget fixed blade market.
This one may have earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
