I Can't Believe This Knife's HRC Result!

I sent 15 pocket knives and EDC fixed blades to Taylor at Steel Hardness Lab for independent HRC testing, and the results were definitely interesting. Some of these knives tested really well, some were about what I expected, and one knife came back with a very disappointing blade hardness.
In this video, I go through each knife’s actual Rockwell hardness test result, compare it to the company’s listed HRC range, and give my thoughts on whether the heat treat is where I think it should be for that steel. HRC is not the only thing that matters in a knife, but it can tell us a lot about how a company is handling their steel and heat treatment.
Brands tested in this video include Kizer, KANSEPT, Civivi, Jack Wolf Knives, Tuya, Demko, FerraMonster, SOG, Trivisa, Petrified Fish, and Olitans.
I’ll talk about which knives were surprisingly good, which ones were just fine, and which one came in way lower than I would like to see. If you care about knife steel, heat treat, edge retention, toughness, and real-world EDC performance, this one should be interesting.
