Restoring a Vintage Knife (Live) Will This Work?

Join me live in the workshop as we bring a classic vintage pocket knife back to life! In today’s live restoration, we’ll tackle heavy rust removal, blade sharpening, cleaning and polishing the handles, and tuning the slipjoint mechanism for that crisp walk and talk.

⏱️ What We’re Doing Today:
- Inspection of the vintage slipjoint
- Rust eradication and deep blade cleaning
- Brass/nickel silver bolster & handle scale restoration
- Tuning the spring tension and walk & talk
- Final bevel sharpening and stropping to a razor edge

- Rust remover / penetrating oil
- Brass wire brushes & fine steel wool
- Wet/dry sandpaper (various grits)
- Buffing compounds & polishing wheels
- Diamond sharpening stones & leather strop
- Mineral oil / blade protectant
