RoseCraft has brought back the Appalachian Jack — but is this rerelease the best RoseCraft slipjoint yet?
In this review, I take a close look at the RoseCraft Blades Appalachian Jack RCT003 in both Dapper Jigged Bone and Red Barnboard Jigged Bone. We’ll compare the handle covers, examine the fit and finish, and put the knife through its paces as a practical traditional pocket knife.
The Appalachian Jack features a 3.3-inch 14C28N clip point blade, a half-stop, brushed satin finish, nail-nick opening, non-locking slipjoint construction, and a solid pry tip built into the butt of the handle. It measures 4.4 inches closed and 7.7 inches overall, including the pry tip.
I’ll also look at the walk and talk, blade geometry, backspring, ergonomics, carryability, cutting performance, and whether this knife offers genuine value for traditional knife collectors and everyday users.
