Fun ways knives lock open & close thanks to cool innovations for better tools! What’s your favorite?

Published: 2 years ago

This is a quick look at just a few ways that knives lock open or closed to show some differences and similarities. There are so many more ways knives lock like slip joints, back lock, Scorpion lock, double detent, liner lock (is similar to a bolster lock but an inside liner inside scales/liners or a part of the inside liner), magnetic lock, manual pins, and many, many more.

What is your favorite locking system and why? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thank you.

Today, I’m demonstrating this with my Pro-Tech Malibu in CPM-20CV, Pro-Tech TR-3 in Magnacut with a Lynch deep carry clip, Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or PM2 in CPM-S45VN with Arctic Storm Fat Carbon swapped scales and Lynch deep carry clip, Spyderco Smock in CPM-S30V with Orange Fat Carbon. Scales and Lynch deep carry clip, Vero Engineering Axon in M390 and with Skiff caged ceramic ball bearing washers, We Saakshi in CPM-20CV with Skiff caged ceramic ball bearing washer, Andrew Demko AD20.5 in CPM-3V with milled titanium scales and Lynch deep carry clip, and Benchmade Bugout in M390 Cerakoted blade with milled aluminum scales.

The Spyderco PM2 has the OCD4EDC CME (Compression lock Lock Made Easy) attached for easier left-handed handling. I highly recommend that for you PM2, PM3, and Shaman. I have them on all 3.
