Just a man, his dog, & a favorite knife on a Sunday… flicking my We Saakshi in Jade G10

A perfectly tuned knife is a beautiful thing when the detent is light enough for fuller reverse flicking and strong enough for good flipper deployment.
I use Skiff caged ceramic ball bearing washers when I can because of their tolerances and they typically help a knife be significantly smoother. It’s worth the extra ~$15 (as of October 2022) to help a knife you like and use regularly.
In this case, I lightened the lock bar (the metal piece that springs out and drops behind the blade to keep the knife open and from closing on your hand as you use your knife) of the bolster lock just enough to make reverse fuller flicking comfortable and to make the flipper easy to manage. This bar has the detent ball embedded in the bar so it can roll over the blade to control its opening and closing.
I’m not a fan of overly strong detents, which means I am likely the odd man out. If you like strong detents, then what I did is not for you; however, you can do the opposite to make your detent and action on your knife stronger.
