Idea behind the design - Nearly all of his designs are influenced by time spent in the outdoors and his job as a forester. All of the models are named after something in nature! The Nymph is technically the miniature version of the Odo', which is short for Odonate, the Dragonfly Clade.
The knife is pretty much meant to be a true EDC pocket fixed blade. Something that can be thrown in a pocket or bag and forgotten about until it's needed. They're very lightweight, so he wanted something that was going to be excellent for most daily cutting tasks without the extra weight of a thicker stock.
Maker is 25 years old and has been making knives since he was 14. Waxed Wing was started by in 2019 as a bit of a personal project, but was officially registered as a business in 2023. He has been making knives seriously and consistently since 2019
