Demko AD20.5 is the Fidget Champ! At least until the WinterBlade Factor... (Factor vid to come)
Published: 2 years ago
Demko did it! Made a very good knife under $200! Some say it's not the best materials... but the scales are easily upgraded. Then it's over $200, you say? Sure, but the fidget factor is.... wait, Factor! The WinterBlade factor is arguably a better fidget knife! But for like $350 or so....
Anyway, I digress. What are good things about the 20.5? Not the name, certainly. It's very smooth, in that Benchmade Axis lock way. It's tough, tougher than most Benchmades of similar size. It's damn fidgety, with so many opening options. Also at least two very usable unlocking methods, finger or thumb. Sound! The opening and closing sounds are very cool. Factor cool? No, but pretty cool none the less. Strength is high, ergos are acceptable (though it's a tad thin imo), lock access is easy, smooth as glass, pocket clip is usable, blade geometry is great...
On the negative side, Aus10a, really? Come on Demko... if you cut corners on scale material, up the blade steel. And vice versa, at least use G10 if you're going the Aus10a route. Blade length to handle ratio is... well, not good (if such things are important to you). It's a bit thin for my hands. Personal preference? Yup, but I think others will agree.
In all, it's a very good knife on balance. Is it great? You decide!
Have a nice day.
