Eafengrow 928 Ferrum Forgery Copy? Clone? Coincidence? Making an OK Knife Great! Blade Mods/Dad Bods

Published: 2 years ago

So I thought this Eafengrow had a cool look, so I checked out a review by Love Them Knives. Ltk mentioned the similarly between the Ef 928 and the Arch Bishop, by Ferrum Forge. I was skeptical, seeing only vague similarities. I didn't mention this in the video, the the Ef is also bigger overall than the Ferrum Forge, as though Ef took the pictures of the FF and enlarged them by 20% before making the thing.

I ordered one off Amazon and was not pleasantly surprised to receive a tank of a knife, with a blade too thick and g10 scales even thicker. This beast was nearly 3/4 in. thick! It felt like holding a D-Cell flashlight instead of a knife. So I removed close to a 1/4 in. of material and contoured the g10. I did a few other mods to differentiate this knife from the Arch Bishop.

We have disassembly, assessment, discussion, critique, mod planning, and lots more! is all that a sufficient excuse for a ridiculously long video? Nope. This thing is way too long and deserves any/all criticism in this regard.

What makes this long winded video worth watching, is that under all the over built g10 is a decent knife. Eafengrow makes quite a few turds and a few meh knives, this one has good bones if you like to work on things.

But please enjoy, and fast forward when you get bored! Have a nice day.
