Kershaw Camp Series
No longer just for protection against a zombie apocalypse, the Camp family series from Kershaw are big-bladed, powerful, intense machetes perfect for campsites or blazing a trail. The Camp series comes in a variety of blade shapes, steels and handle grips. From clearing brush to making kindling, Camp machetes can slash, hack, split and scrape just about any material for any task. Contoured and ergonomic handles with built-in hand guards have drilled lanyard holes for optimal carrying versatility. The Kershaw Camp series offers the biggest, baddest blades built for toughness and wear resistance.
Attractive Blade Coating:
A powder coat on a blade creates a smooth, even and tough coating. Applied as a fine powder or cured under heat, powder coating offers blade protection, non-glare, low reflectivity and striking looks. Blade can be coated in a variety of colors using a powder coat and is intended for light use, or collectable knives.
Durable Handle:
A rubber overmold is a textured rubber layer on the handle scale that provides extra grip, usually molded over a solid polymer handle. With an attractive appearance and exceptional performance, a rubber overmold allows the knife to become more function and durability when in use. Rubber overmolds are textured and detailed to provide a more secure, more safe, nonslip grip.
High-Performance Steel:
Popular in Kershaw’s Camp series of machetes, the 65MN steel is tough, durable and designed for hard-use applications. 65MN steel is a readily-available Chinese steel that is formulated and manufactured to provide excellent wear resistance, hardness and strength. The medium-high carbon content adds a high degree of toughness and resilience to this high-performing, rugged, solid steel.
Product Description:
The Camp 18 machete is Kershaw’s biggest, baddest blade in the Camp Series lineup. Made with strong, high-performance 65Mn steel and finished with a mean-looking black powdercoat, the Camp 18 design is ideal for most hard-use applications, tackling the toughest campsite and outdoor chores. Whether you need to cut, hack, slash, strip or split, the Camp 18 can take just about anything, anywhere. Measuring 24-inches, the Camp 18 features a fixed blade, full tang construction with solid polymer handle covered by a textured rubber overmold, and contoured for a stable grip in any condition. A built-in hand guard is drilled in the front and back of the handle for a lanyard. The Camp 18 also includes its own molded sheath, protecting the blade and user, and providing extra carry convenience with sturdy nylon straps and lash points. Whether deep in a jungle, in the backcountry, on a farm, or even trapped in a zombie apocalypse, the Camp 18 is a rough and tumble tool for almost any environment.
From the Manufacturer:
The Camp 18 is the biggest zombie whacker in the Kershaw stable. On the other hand, we think it makes a pretty darn successful camp knife, too. With it's big 18-inch blade, it takes on campsite and other outdoor chores with ease. From clearing brush to making kindling, the Camp 18 is the ideal outdoor and survival tool. Cut, chop, slash, hack, split, scrape—just about any task you ask of it, the Camp 18 can handle. The full-tang Camp 18 is made of carbon tool steel for toughness and wear resistance. A basic black powder coat protects the steel and makes maintenance easier. You'll like the secure, contoured grip of the Camp 18, too. The handle has a built-in hand guard and is drilled in both front and rear so you can attach a lanyard either place—or both—for carrying versatility. Like the other knives in our Camp series, the Camp 18 comes with its own molded sheath with sturdy nylon straps. Whether you're whacking zombies or underbrush, the Camp 18 is the tool of choice. Technical Specifications: Fixed Blade: The knife does not fold closed; usually stored in a sheath or blade protector.
