The Buck 110 in supersteel! BUCK's first "Stealth Run" is a 110 Folding Hunter in CPM-Magnacut
Published: 1 year ago
This week Buck announced their first ever "stealth run" (similar to Spyderco's "Sprint run" practice of releasing special edition knives in very limited quantities). The model was the venerable Buck 110 Folding Hunter, an icon among pocketknives, which has always been known for getting better-than-possible performance out of 420HC steel, due to a special heat treating process. Now Buck is applying their famous Bos Heat Treat to CPM-Magnacut, a supersteel that, on paper at least, achieves high marks for toughness, hardness and stain resistance. The problem with Magnacut in the real world has been that many production knives using it haven't heat treated it to achieve its full potential. Will this Buck buck that trend? Too soon to tell! In this video, I merely take a first look at this beautiful stealth run knife.
