TSA-confiscated $700 Shirogorov knife for only eight bucks?! (No, not really.)
Published: 1 year ago
I found this used knife for sale at the State Surplus Store in Austin, Texas. It was surrendered to TSA at an airport. It appears to be an expensive Shirogorov knife, made in Russia, from exotic steel. But a few details give it away as a counterfeit. There's a space missing in the text on the blade, the materials are wrong, and the pocket clip is very obviously wrong. On top of that it just doesn't feel like a high end knife, in terms of fit and finish.
