HX Outdoors Rock Apex: A great all-around survival knife at a modest price

The Rock Apex from HX Outdoors is a great all-around camp knife, with some standout features. First, the blade is DC53 steel, which has the edge retention of D2 but TWICE the toughness. Second, the knife comes with a ferrocerium rod, and a portion of the spine has been filed to a crisp edge to strike sparks for starting a fire. The full-tang construction makes it strong enough to baton with, and the sheath keeps everything secure.
