FINAL 5 ; OMKR response to Metal Complex’s open Tag
Published: 3 years ago
Here we have my FINAL 5 response to Metal Complex’s open tag. I may have interpreted the categories a bit differently but here they are:
The Safe Queen; My Protech Newport. For some reason I just find this knife to pretty to carry and mar it up so it stays home, a safe Queen.
The Heavy Use/Beater; to me the Beater knife is a knife I can throw at any task I need with the expectation that it can take it, not a cost based issue. The ZT 0560 is just that knife, in ELMAX steel it will hold up to about any job I have for it.
The Budget EDC; this was a tough one, mainly in pricing, so I may be charting a bit in that I traded for the Spyderco Para3 light weight. With OCD-4-EDC’s CME, it’s a beast.
The High End EDC; for me the Protech Malibu is pretty close to the top end EDC I have and love to flip it, the sound is terrific. cpm20cv steel. It’s great for EDC.
Lastly the Gentleman’s carry; a knife for special occasions in my mind. And while I have other knives that to me would be more Gentleman’s carry, the reality is that the Spyderco One-Eyed Jack has found its way into my pocket at nearly every significant planned event.
Thanks so much for the Open Tag MC! Hope you all enjoyed.
