These affordable chef knives are from brands like Dalstrong, Victorinox, Pioneer Woman, Misen, Cold Steel and Off-Grid. to a campsite to see if they could withstand the rigors of outdoor testing. We have already tested these knives on food prep in the kitchen, but the wilderness is a much more difficult challenge.

We subjected these knives to bushcraft jobs like carving, batoning, chopping and spark throwing. Most did better than expected. Others failed miserably.
