Scandinavian Knives: A correction in terminology
Published: 2 years ago
In an earlier video, I said that puukko is Finnish for “knife.” This is a bit misleading: veitsi is the standard term for knife; puukko is more specific. “Puu” means wood and puukko could come from the fact that these knives often had wooden handles, or that they were used in woodworking.
I’ve already recorded several more episodes and respect this error in at least one or two, so I wanted to get this correction out there.
