The Spyderco Tenacious and Persistence are two value-forward EDC folding knives from Spyderco, both around $40, both at the very top end of Thrifty Thursdays. They're well-designed knives, built solidly for a good price, but they're not that ergonomic, they're thick, and they're pretty heavy.
They're not *great* knives, but they're damned good, and for $40, the Tenacious particularly is hard to beat.
