A few thoughts on buying fixed blades

Today, I want to take a moment, in the light of some changes in the fixed blade market, to talk about fixed blade knives, why my general 'production first' emphasis for knife buying doesn't necessarily apply in the fixed blade world, and remind people that supporting independent artists and artisans, especially in tough times, is critical to keeping this hobby and craft alive.
