$39 knife w. “Swappable” blades
Published: 1 year ago
Anyone have experiecne with this kind of blade? Ive seen these before and always wanted one to try out. Today I am checking out the Coast Cutlery SHIFT, a multi-purpose, folding knife that offers an option to swap between three different blade shapes; a general purpose drop point, a utility razor, and a gut hook. The knife itself comes in at 3.4 ounces and includes five swappable blades (2 razor, 2 droppoint, 1 gut hook). Included is a little plastic carrying case (1.2 oz) and nylon sheath that comes with a knife holds the extra razor blades and the knife.
This is my first experience with interchangeable blades and I am eager to see how they actually perform. I will be keeping the razor blade on this model and set it on my window cell so I can use it to attack incoming Amazon packages. A cool feature about the utility razor blade is that it doesn’t only come with two of them, but you can turn the blade around once one end dulls.
At budget-friendly price of 40.00, I’m excited to see how this performs, and eager to see if the blades will stand the test as they are thinner. This type of knife also significantly cuts down the amount of blades you carry around.
This linerlock knife features a COAST-patented “Double Lock System” which once activated, provides another point of contact when the blade is locked out for added, safety and security.
The handle boast a grippy and durable textured nylon and a lanyard hole. It features a deep carry pocket clip (non-reversible) with a tip down carry for fast access.
I’m super curious as to how this will hold up, I’ll keep you guys posted.
