Replace your blade with a “click”
Published: 1 year ago
(Find the knife at OutdoorEdge.com.) Budget blade day! Outdoor Edge Knives has been releasing a lot of cool replacement blade options recently and the Razor VX that is a part of that lineup.
Outdoor Edge has been in the industry for quite some time now and has been continuously working on ways to improve their patented RazorSafe® locking system. The ability to swap out individual blades is surprisingly easy. There is a small button at the top of the scale that when pressed, releases the blade. Insert in the new blade, hear the click, and you know the blade is securely set in.
Though replaceable blades are not for everyone and not recommended for super heavy use, they do fit the needs of those just looking for a standard EDC blade for daily task, like opening packages, cutting cordage, etc. They’re also helpful for people who hate sharpening knives (yes, I have been there once).
Starting at $40, the knife features a reversible pocket clip for right, and left-handed carry. As of now there are five different models available that feature different mechanisms including ceramic ball bearing pivots, steel ball bearing, and spring-assisted.
The replaceable blade shapes features a variety of drop point and utility razor blade shapes that feature serrated, and non-serrated versions. Materials like micarta, G10, and carbon fiber are available for handle scales.
Moreover, in my opinion, the blade looks pretty darn stylish. Looking at it first glance, you wouldn’t even know it’s a replaceable blade.
