Would you pay $1500 for Rare Benchmade?

While browsing the Benchmade section at Jay’s Sporting Goods, I came across this limited edition Autocrat OTF that has a wavy, snake-like blade shape inspired by the warrior cultures of Southeast Asia. That wavy shape is inspired by the kris blade, historically a symbol of mystical power and status (though not all Kris blades were wavy).
They went further with the snake theme by using Snakeskin FatCarbon and DLC coated Vinland Damasteel that matches the blade shape. The handle has an “open spine construction” which gives the appearance of the blade floating within the handle.
The employees said only about 150 of these were ever made. They have two of them at the store or on their website (jayssportinggoods.com) and they will cost a pretty penny at $1500 a pop.
