An interesting piece of maritime history inspired the design of the GiantMouse Iona Sailor. Back in ye’ old ship days, naval officers ordered sailors to break the tip off of their knives to prevent mutiny. Sailors had extremely rough lives and were often mistreated by naval officers, so it’s no surprise that officers took measures to prevent backfire.

The Iona Sailor doesn’t only nod tribute to those days, it sports features that would make it a good folding knife for the deck:
-easy to clean washer bearings
-corrosion resistant s90v
-water resistant FRN injected mold handles
-curved slicing edged for smooth cutting
-blunt tip to prevent accidental punctures of flotation devices
-lightweight but strong liner lock
-slightly protruding lock bar with aggressive jimping that could be deployed and closed with gloves on

Love the way the sunlight reflects on the handle! These just became available.
