Do you like Snarf? I like Snarf! I have covered a decent amount of utility knives this year as they have become very popular with many variations. This is the first utility knife with the ultra-fidgety roundhouse lock, popularized by Aurora Knife & Tool’s “Truffles” a couple of years back. The Roundhouse lock has a big ol button on the pivot that activates a leaf spring, which retracts a liner back into the frame of the knife for opening and closing. There is also a lengthy cutout for finger flick release and a flipper tab opening.
The name Snarf is inspired by the silly character from Thundercats. Michael, the designer of Snarf is a true knife enthusiast that wanted to create a utility knife for “knife people”. This becomes very apparent in the multiple deployment options, the ergonomic handle and deep finger coil. The release and re-attachment of the utility razor is very fast and simple, one of the best I’ve seen so far. There are some little Easter eggs on the design like the hidden lanyard hole and the knife’s ability to become a bottle opener when the utility razor is removed.
It also comes at a pretty darn affordable price point of $59 for earlybird pricing with the titanium handle models coming in at $89 for early bird pricing.
($59) from Aurora Knife and Tool has just launched on GetSnarfed.com.
SNARF - verb
: to eat (something) quickly or greedily
ex. "hey this utility knife really snarfed up my cardboard stockpile!"
